Jan completed her paralegal degree in 1993 at North Hennepin Community College and has worked as a paralegal since then. She grew up in southeast Iowa, moving to Minnesota in 1992 to marry her husband, George, who was working for Northwest Airlines at the time.

Prior to returning to school to become a paralegal Jan worked several years, as a direct care worker in a mental hospital, for the State of Iowa. While working for the State, Jan was involved in the employees’ union and served in various positions, including as a district vice president and a member of the Women’s Advisory Committee in Washington DC.

Once relocating to the Twin Cities area, Jan decided it was time for a change and returned to college after a 15-year hiatus. After more than three decades in the field, Jan still loves being a paralegal and the challenges that it brings. She feels that her strengths are her analytical and comprehension skills when working on files and her communication skills, making clients feel comfortable and reassured. Jan also has extensive trial experience and electronic exhibit preparation and presentation.

Jan has three amazing children, two daughters, Angela and Miranda, and a son, Zachary. In her free time, Jan enjoys reading, listening to music, traveling, and spending time with her dogs, Patches and Stella.
