Hugh grew up on the East Coast in Andover, Massachusetts, a town 25 miles north of Boston.  He then graduated from Marquette University in 2005.  Following obtaining his Bachelor’s degree, Hugh worked in the world of Undergraduate Admissions for 7 years, first with his Alma Mater then at Loyola University Chicago.  While in Chicago he met his wife, Angela, and they moved to the Twin Cities where Hugh attended law school at William Mitchell College of Law (now Mitchell Hamline).

Having come to the law as a second career, Hugh applies a practical approach to each case he works on.  He knows what it is like for his clients who find themselves involved in a lawsuit with no idea about the many moving parts of the legal system.  In each case, he takes a pragmatic approach to ensure the best results for his clients.  Hugh first started his legal career working in primarily construction law before broadening his practice to include insurance defense, personal injury defense, wrongful death claims, insurance coverage analysis, trucking accidents, property appraisals, and subrogation actions.

Hugh’s favorite part of the profession is the people he works with, be it his coworkers at the firm, clients, Judges, experts or fellow counsel.  He tries to learn from each person he interacts with and apply it to his trial practice, No-Fault Arbitration hearings, property appraisals, various motion practice in District Courts, or writing briefs for the Minnesota Court of Appeals and the Supreme Court of Minnesota.  Continuous knowledge and growth serve Hugh well as he continues on in his legal career.

Hugh is admitted to practice law in the Minnesota State Bar, Wisconsin State Bar, and is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association as well.  He also provides pro-bono work to Cancer Legal Care.  When not working, you can find Hugh with his wife Angela, their daughter Audrey, and their dog, Bowie.  Should free time present itself, Hugh likes to watch any of his beloved Boston sports teams, run, bike, or listen to music, ideally outdoors on a beautiful Minnesota night.
