Nick attended the University of Minnesota on a full academic scholarship, where he earned his undergraduate degree in History and International Relations in 1989. He worked throughout his college years, spending his summers at Rahr Malting Company in Shakopee shoveling malted barley into train cars and working during the school year at Media Resources Campus Service on the University of Minnesota campus.

After graduating from the University of Minnesota, Nick attended Hamline University School of Law (now Mitchell Hamline School of Law), where he graduated in 1993. During law school, he worked full time as a law clerk. Since that time, Nick has focused his practice on commercial and insurance litigation for 30+ years.

Nick currently represents insurance companies, their insureds, and businesses in a wide range of litigated matters, including trucking litigation, fire and explosion cases, property appraisals, personal injury and wrongful death defense, contract and coverage disputes, employer liability, construction disputes, and general litigation. He has handled numerous complex matters, including high-profile cases and catastrophic losses.

Nick is an experienced trial attorney who has tried more than 100 jury trials to completion. He also has substantial appellate experience. In addition to his litigation practice, Nick maintains an active mediation and arbitration practice. He handles mediations and arbitrations involving personal injury, construction, commercial, and insurance-related disputes. He frequently presents at seminars for clients and attorneys on a variety of legal topics.

Nick is a member of the Minnesota State Bar Association and is admitted to practice in Minnesota, the United States District Court for the District of Minnesota, and Wisconsin. Outside of his practice, he enjoys hiking, fishing, and spending time with his wife, Lisa, their two adult children, and two wonderful grandchildren.
